Trophy Gallery

In the year that man first walked on the moon, two new perpetual trophies were introduced at the Royal Easter Show;   The TB Macfarlane Perpetual Trophy and the Livermore Golden Lance are awarded for Campdrafting and Tentpegging respectively, both Horse Competition events and have been awarded every year since 1969. All of these facts come together in the return of the Trophy Gallery at this year’s Royal Easter Show.

The Gallery showcases the 258 Perpetual Trophies owned and awarded each year by the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW.

Ten new trophies have been donated since last year’s Royal Easter Show and their diversity alone highlights the unique characteristics of this collection.  The new trophies include traditional antique silver, newly designed hand-chased metalwork and artistry in glass.

The Trophy Gallery will this year, be backed by a timeline placing the history of the RAS alongside events in World History and giving the Perpetual Trophy a wider context.  The Gallery exhibition will allow the Show-going public an insight into the history of the RAS of NSW and the Royal Easter Show.
